Letter of Prof. Sinerik Ayrapetyan to General Director of UNESCO - Ms. Audrey Azoulay

Taking into consideration the political situation in our region and the Pandemic, which makes it extremely difficult to implement UNITWIN  Network activities in their former form, Prof.Sinerik Ayrapetyan has recently sent an official letter to UNESCO Director General Ms. Audrey Azoulay with a suggestion to reorganize our UNESCO/UNITWIN Network into UNESCO Open Science Center for Biophysics, Biotechnology and Environmental Health Control under the auspices of UNESCO (to access the online letter please follow the link)

As well, regarding the aforementioned idea, Prof. Sinerik Ayrapetyan has contacted Dr. Ahmed Fahmi (Chief of Section, from Division of Science Policy and Capacity Building, Natural Science Sector of UNESCO) who has highly welcomed this initiative and proposed to reorganize UNESCO/UNITWIN Network into *Category 2 Center* under the auspices of UNESCO. Thus, after a thorough discussion we are taking our next steps for implementation of this initiative.

In the light of the above, UNESCO/UNITWIN Network is glad to inform that this initiative has an open participation character and all Research and Educational Institutions and International Organizations are mostly welcome to participate in it.
